Unfortunately the forum is their life and universe. These people had no real life previously and old age and a pension have given them some semblance of power, at least in their minds.

They still have not and never have had any relevance in the real world. I feel sorry for the poor old deluded fools who never achieved anything in their lives.

Their trolling policy is a joke considering Thaivisa violates it.

My comment was removed on Thaivisa for specious reasons and it was done rudely. The moderator Metisdead (that name is fine?) is the culprit, but Scott supported his decision. There was no justification for it. I was trying to elevate the discussion by stating that the "driver" (the perpetrator) could have acted out of revenge for an illegal action that the victim could have done. I was told that I was blaming the victim. That I was making allegations, which is funny because most stories on Thaivisa are allegations that have not been proven in a court of law. Anyway,... Consider the trolling policy: "You will not post inflammatory messages on the forum[,] or attempt to disrupt discussions to upset its participants, or troll[ing]. Trolling can be defined as the act of purposefully antagonizing other people on the internet by posting controversial, inflammatory, irrelevant or off-topic messages with the primary intent of provoking other users into an emotional response or to generally disrupt normal on-topic discussion." As a degree holder in linguistics, I could talk about poor grammar/punctuation [see bracket], which is indicative of the type of people we are dealing with, but let's go to the issue of incoherence. Incidentally, most websites and forums have these policies that are designed to show who is the boss, essentially. Core of the issue Thaivisa's newsfeed is full of stories that inflame or upset people. These stories antagonizes people. Thaivisa publishes controversial and inflammatory stories all of the time and have been for decades. These are stories that provoke people into an emotional response, often having readers posting death threats, which are accepted by moderators and Thaivisa! These stories (like in most places) are designed to attract people and to sell ads. No one on Thaivisa is going to be able to influence the outcome of these stories. Posters must not go against the general consensus because that would be deemed "controversial" or could "provoke an emotional response"! Here are just a few examples. I agree 100% - dont go there much anymore. Full of bitter angry Expat whingers who get fired up daily by all the negative stories and criticism of Thais and Thailand.

You know the type - bar stool losers who troll girlie bars whenever they get some money - the rest of the time they suck *** at home while trolling Thai Visa.

If they were still living back home in the west, they would be on the streets or on Government welfare in subsidised housing - losers. Best to do the same as you would do in the west if you saw them - look and walk away and do not ever 'engage' in any way.

Well, I don't know about all that, bit over the top and frankly, your comments sound like those whingers you are referring to.

But yes, ThaiVisa is a bloody sad and terrible place these days.

I spend less time there now compared to just a year ago. It was a process of breaking a bad habit. Bit like smoking, or drinking? Weaning myself off the daily dose of negativity.

Scott. Metisdead. Jingthing. It's all poison, you don't need it, so quit.

I encourage everyone to physically log out from the Forum.

If your browser/cookies keep you logged in automatically when you click on the Forum, then log out. You will still show as a Member but at least won't add to their logged in/viewing members stats. That's about the best you can do. Then stop going to the website altogether.

Don't add to their advertising views and clicks.

If it is part of your daily routine, it's hard at first but in time, you'll find other things to do. Chok dee.

TV Was once a good interesting place to go, full of good information and even a good fun place to kill a few hours before beer o'clock, trolling the Thaier-than-thou types, the Thai haters or the Digital pikey set.

Sadly, now it is controlled by left-wing Homosexuals and their chums, criminals of various guises, and {{Redacted}} posing as 'respectable' citizens. This forum has gone downhill faster than Bob Geldofs career. The main issue is that any posts using logic or reason are removed, and only xtreme anti Trump posts are permitted. Users exist in a tiny bubble where they have convinced themselves that Trump is {{REDACTED}}. I posted a Trump twitter entry which was removed for "trolling" and an unallowed source issue. Seriously the POTUS is an unverified source. Stick your forum up yer backside you bent barsteward Scott. This used to be a vibrant forum going back a decade ago. How on earth The Nation can allow one triggered snowflake to ruin the whole forum is a mystery?

I first joined TVF to ask some questions about visas.

For a few months I enjoyed some of the other threads but noticed a trend of Anti Trump posts. On any given day, some 75%+ of new threads in the General section are started by Scott, Metisdead or Jinthing and are all anti Trump.

These three are using this forum as a political message and deleting/banning anyone who dares take an opposing view.

I was banned for questioning whether or not there was a conflict of interests with Scott starting threads and then moderating them.

No criticism of moderators will be tolerated......end result....banned.

Oh well, I see that it has reached financial crunch time for them so not long before it shuts down

The number of advertisers has dropped, therefore the income is down.

The number of genuine posters has dropped and false members have been made up.

First sign of trouble.

They are now blasting anyone who has an ad blocker with "Brooks's" music and a begging letter for subscription money. Final sign of trouble as reduced revenue means no tea money to pay off their protectors/

Right now there is a topic on Thaivisa world news that discusses the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC). One of the long term posters, Jingthing, is supportive of that organization. A little research shows that the SPLC once listed presidential candidate Ben Carson as a hate group and that they have never listed the organization of pedophiles known as the North American Man Boy Love Association (NAMBLA). In fact, it was Carson's anti-NAMBLA view that helped get him listed as a hater on SPLC. So is Ben Carson worse than NAMBLA? Yes, according to the SPLC. Why does Jingthing feel that the SPLC and NAMBLA are great organizations? Why doesnt his comrade-in-little-boy-love Scott the moderator ban him for his support of them? We know why.

The elderly, poverty-stricken Jingthing has been in a state of depression ever since Trump won the election last November. He is now looking to move back to the United States, but can't afford it.

It's not only Scott and Jingthing.

Ubon Joe and Sheryl are two moderators that both enjoy good reputations within their areas of expertise, Ubon Joe for visas and Sheryl for medicine.Members thank them quite often for their helpful advice.

However, when it comes to censorship based on political views, that’s a different story.

Get to know Ubon Joe and Sheryl a little better and you find out they support the left-wing, fascist, thug politics of the other mods. They will ban people, or have them banned, based on the left wing fascist criteria of the Thaivisa management. By participating, perhaps against their own will, they are just as bad as those with whom they associate.

A crowd which, by the way, includes one murderer, albeit a former mod, but one who is now in prison for murdering his Thai girlfriend. You can Google this if you wish.

Sheryl and Ubon Joe, I urge you to RENOUNCE Thaivisa and leave that group of murderers and thugs. Perhaps you could go to other websites where you would be free to give helpful advice without the incredible negative stigma of Thaivisa.

Right now it’s a stain on both your lives.

Get rid of that stain.Remember, you are judged by the company you keep.

Appalling Thai Visa and their Goons for Moderators

There was a review done last year stating that Metishead was "a sad cretenous ***". 1 year has passed since a previous posting regarding this issue and this poor sole, but Metisdead continuse his self righteous curtailment of free speech, suspending members who differ in opinion from him or outright banning them. This poor fellow is mentally very sad indeed, maybe he requires a course of anti-depressants, maybe he is ***, many Mods on Thai visa tend to be for some reason, perhaps because they can hide behind anonymity, they try to screw others. Not that I have anything at all against Gays, many of my best friends are. Who knows what his problem is. Prior to the sell out to the Nation Group, Thai Visa .com was quite a useful with good forums and had good classifieds and the like to help Expats in Thailand. Since that sell out however the quality has slipped to a level of that of The Nation newspaper so perhaps it is a sign of the times that open and helpful opinion for Expats is being discouraged. Certainly opinionated moderators such as Metisdead and Scott are working towards that end - sad fellows indeed.

It's their natural language, which makes them just as bad, or worse, than those they laughably claim to oppose.
